Press Release

The City of Cumberland Engineering Department, on behalf of Triton Construction, would like to notify the public that South Mechanic Street will be closed to thru traffic between Baltimore Street and Pershing Street between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24th

 

Signage will be in place to detour passenger vehicles around the road closure. Trucks will be detoured to Queen City Drive to avoid the closure. Flaggers will also be in place at the Baltimore Street Intersection to allow one lane of traffic to remain open for vehicles travelling between N. Mechanic Street and Baltimore Street.

 

As part of this utility work, a water outage will take place in the following areas starting at 8AM: S Liberty Street between Baltimore Street and Harrison St, and Canal Street including Canal Place. Water should be restored by 6PM.

 

Traffic is expected to be restored on Wednesday, May 24th, at 6:00 PM.

 

Additional information will be released in the event the closure duration needs to be extended.
