[ARCHIVED] City of Cumberland Sustainable Communities Program 2022-2026 Application for Designation Renewal

PUBLIC NOTICE

This is to notify the public that the City of Cumberland is providing a 15- day comment period beginning January 3, 2022 and ending January 17, 2022 for the Sustainable Communities Program Application for Designation Renewal which is available on the City of Cumberland website and within the Department of Community Development, City Hall.  The Sustainable Communities Workgroup convened to discuss the accomplishments and challenges of the 2017 5-Year Sustainable Communities Action Plan to align community development priorities and strategies within the Cumberland Sustainable Communities Area which may be accessed at https://portal.dhcd.state.md.us/GIS/revitalize/index.html. Approval of applications will be made by the Governor’s Smart Growth Coordinating Committee on the recommendation of an inter-agency review team coordinated by the Department of Housing and Community Development. 

City staff will present a review of the application on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. during the regular Mayor & City Council Work-Session, second floor, City Hall. Please see the agenda posted on the city website for exact times and details if you wish to attend. Council Chambers, second floor and virtual meetings are accessible. Persons who require additional accommodations should contact Lee Borror at the Department of Community Development, Lower Level, City Hall at least 3 days prior to the meeting to make necessary arrangements.

Final resolution to approve the Designation Renewal Application will occur at the end of the comment period, at the regular Mayor & Council meeting on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 (see www.ci.cumberland.md.us under Community Development for confirmation.)
