The City of Cumberland 2015 curbside recycling schedule is now available online. Copies are also available for pick up at City Hall.
New in 2015: Recycling commodity is being accepted for curbside collection on both garbage collection days for all city routes. Please feel free to set recycling bins or bundles out for collection on either of your scheduled collection days each week; following the Burgmeier’s Hauling recycling calendar.
Recycling commodity is collected on an alternating weekly schedule: co-mingled products one week and mixed papers the following week.
Co-mingle recycling includes plastic containers ( #1, #2, #4, #5, and #7), glass containers, aluminum and metal cans.
Mixed paper recycling includes newspapers, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, office paper and phone books. Cardboard is accepted if broken down and flattened into no larger than 24 inch bundles.
Please note garbage, plastic bags, food scraps and yard waste are not accepted in recycling bins. These items contaminate recycling collection; therefore, will be considered garbage.
